DSS NETWORKS ANNOUNCES LOW COST GIGABIT ETHERNET PRODUCT LINE SUPPORT FOR SOLARIS BASED SYSTEMS
Irvine, CA - February 15, 2002 -- DSS Networks leads the industry by breaking price and performance barriers and announces low-cost support for
the Solaris operating system across its broad line of Gigabit Ethernet products, all targeted for Embedded Broadband Network Applications.
Driver support for the Solaris operating system includes Models 5161, 6160 and 7160 as well as all future models of the single and
multi-port Gigabit Ethernet controllers. This device driver is compatible across several versions of the Solaris Operating System
including Solaris versions 7 and 8 as well as future versions of Solaris.
The device driver support will be in the form of a Streams / DLPI interface and also compatible with the Generic Driver Interface (GDI) for Solaris.
Offering this Solaris compatibility will allow companies to integrate and use Gigabit Ethernet board level products from DSS Networks in Solaris
based systems including CompactPCI and embedded 1U/2U chassis type PC's and other servers. Processor architectures include Sparc and Intel.
Applications are far reaching; Broadband Networking for the Telecom, Military and Commercial segments including Switches, Routers,
Servers and Multi Access Devices.
Our Gigabit Ethernet controllers are used worldwide to provide the basis for voice, data and video transmission technologies
including Internet Voice, Broadband Video, Streaming Media and other high-speed multi-media data services.
Single unit pricing for our Model 6160 64-bit, 66MHZ PCI low-profile Gigabit Ethernet controller including Solaris driver support and maintenance is $488.
