DSS NETWORKS, INC. ANNOUNCES NEXT GENERATION GIGABIT ETHERNET PRODUCT
Irvine, CA - December 7, 2001 -- DSS Networks announces new addition to the expanding family of Gigabit Ethernet products targeted for
Embedded Broadband Network Applications.
GigMAC PMC-Dual Model 5162 - This new controller board offers two ports of 10/100/1000 Base T Gigabit Ethernet over Copper and is fully IEEE 802.3ab compliant.
It is packaged in a 64-bit PCI Mezzanine (PMC) form factor suitable for embedded enclosures and operates in 33 or 66 MHZ PCI mode.
It has dual onboard fully shielded RJ-45 connectors and connects directly to CAT5 twisted pair cabling.
It uses new small footprint Ultra-Lower Power transceivers utilizing less than 1 watt per port.
This product offers excellent performance and value with simultaneous dual-port capability on a single PMC card.
It includes optional support for link failover and aggregation features.
It is targeted for use in Data and Telecommunications products including Switches, Edge Routers, Gateways, Servers and Internet Appliances
and is well suited for supporting embedded Broadband applications including Internet Voice, Digital Video and Network Attached Storage.
This product is now available and comes complete with a Software Development Kit containing VxWorks, Windows and Linux device drivers, library software,
utilities and documentation.
